Peace Strike "ON STRIKE FOR PEACE"

This was a petition handed into Downing Street by Peace Strike in 2012.
Eight years on, nothing has changed.
Now, more than ever we must remain calm and do everything in our power to keep the peace in the Middle East.

UK citizens must stand united if we are to be effective as a peace movement.
We must not be divided by hate propaganda which is overwhelming the media at this precise moment .
Once divided we are more easily controlled. Fear is the key to controlling the masses as we become increasingly afraid of each other.
If we allow this to happen we will loose the peace movement in a giant tsunami
of hysterical racist bombardment.

This is not by accident but rather, by design.

We need to stand strong and resolute now more than ever. We must be prepare to
face the challenge of more war on the horizon, and this time we must stop it before it’s too late..

United we stand.

Take courage to stand together against what we know is wrong.
Peace has a future for us all, not war.

Intervention in Syria will pave the way to war with Iran.

Remember the west does NOT do liberation!

We sell or supply arms for profit or strategic gain. Either side in the conflict is the same in as they are both responsible for atrocities. It’s called war. Arming either side will lead to the same objective, the total destruction of Syria. Civilians, families, children and the vulnerable are the helpless victims.

The west needs to make it possible for peace talks instead of adding to the huge humanitarian catastrophe, which then forces action that is not in the people’s interest.

Public assets are being sold off against public interest. New legislation  opens way for privatization of our National Health Service. The NHS, is due to celebrate its 65 year anniversary this year. In post war Britain they managed ,with great determination, to bring into existence the world renown National Health Service. This was made possible because the political will was there to support the notion of a health service for all. Our health service was respected throughout the world. Today, we are a country at war in present time and we now find ourselves in the position of our own government making it possible to sell- off our national treasure.

THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE SHOULD NOT BE SOLD OFF, IT BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE!

Billions of pounds has been spent in recent years refurbishing hospitals, making them a viable proposition for privatization.

Mismanagement has left the NHS vulnerable and much criticized. Lack of beds and poor clinical care opens the door to the alternative of an attractive ‘take over’ by companies that have money to inject into the failing service. However, what we must remember is that private companies will wish to make profits…BIG PROFITS!

WAR IN AFGHANISTAN IS COSTING 12 MILLION A DAY!

We can save our health service if we end the war now and bring the troops home. Medical personnel could be deployed in our hospitals for a given period of time, just like the help they gave us during the Olympics. This is do-able and make sense. Saving life is far better than being involved in endless futile conflict.

It’s up to the people themselves to begin to build bridges for peace. Listen to the people with the positive message, not the ones speaking with the voice of fear. Sometimes we have to take a chance, and we may get hurt. But what is life worth –  if we allow ourselves to be manipulated and controlled –  in order for our misery to continue? 

We are all free people. Born free, to be the people we are meant to be. It is a bigger plan than what we understand, but one that is good. Don’t allow your life to be side-tracked by hate. The future has to be built on peace and peaceful intent.

The 100th Monkey
A story about social change.

The Japanese monkey, Macaca Fuscata, had been observed in the wild for a period of over 30years.

In 1952, on the island of Koshima, scientists were providing monkeys with sweet potatoes dropped in the sand.

The monkey liked the taste of the raw sweet potatoes, but they found the dirt unpleasant.

An 18-month-old female named Imo found she could solve the problem by washing the  potatoes in a near by stream.

She taught this trick to her mother. Her playmates also learned
this new way and they taught their mothers too.

This cultural innovation was gradually picked up by various monkeys before the eyes of the scientists.

Between 1952 and 1958, all the young monkeys learned to wash the sandy sweet potatoes to make them more palatable.

Only the adults who imitated their children learned this
social improvement. Other adults kept eating the dirty sweet potatoes.

DO WE REALLY WANT TO KEEP EATING DIRTY SWEET POTATO WHEN WITH A LITTLE EFFORT WE CAN ENJOY IT CLEAN?

WE CAN CHANGE, AND FOR A FUTURE WITH PEACE WE MUST…

Now is the time to embrace for peace.

Following the US elections, –  at some point thereafter, –  we will know if we are on a countdown to war and be able to gauge a realistic time scale.
